Katy at Blogrel takes a look at the large numbers of economic migrants who move (often illegally) from former Soviet Republics to Russia itself in order to make a living, and send some money home to their families.
How long will this go on? Is working as a janitor or a miner in Russia always going to be more economically fesible than finding work at home?
Sadly (although probably happily for the Russian economy) this will continue as long as the Russian economy is richer, more vibrant, freer and more open than the economies in many states in the FSU.
