The British Council closed its teaching centres in Russia more than a year ago - so, unfortunately, normal Russians can't take classes at the British Council!

One thing I've noticed that none of the reports are talking about is how this high-profile diplomatic incident is going to affect normal Russians interested in learning English. Will there be pressures on people not to take classes from the British Council lest they are seen as unpatriotic by the Nashi? Stranger things have happened, but this is just such an unfortunate way for the UK-Russia dispute to be handled.
